New York State Association of Neuropsychology (NYSAN) presents a pre-recorded webinar with Kathleen Fuchs, PhD ABPP & David Marcus, PhD, ABPP
This presentation will give an overview of the ABPP board certification process for clinical neuropsychology with an emphasis on the steps that occur after a candidate’s credentials have been approved by ABCN. Practical information will be provided about the written exam, practice sample review, and the oral exam along with tips about how to prepare for each phase. We will discuss the timeline, costs, and available financial support. We will reserve time to address questions from attendees.
Dr. Kathleen Fuchs earned her degree in clinical psychology at the University of Houston, completed internship at the University of Chicago, and completed a fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Virginia, Dept. of Neurology. She is now an associate professor of clinical neurology at UVA and has an adult outpatient neuropsychological assessment practice. She is on multidisciplinary care teams for individuals with dementia, multiple sclerosis, or brain tumors. She is a past-president of ABCN and is currently the ABCN representative to the ABPP Board of trustees. She has been involved in the ABCN boarding process as a credential reviewer, written exam item-writer, practice sample reviewer, and oral examiner.

Dr. David Marcus is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist and is the Interim Practice Director at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where he has worked for 17 years. Dr. Marcus received a PhD in Clinical Psychology and Child Development from the University of Minnesota. He completed his psychology internship training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and completed his fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Marcus is Board Certified in Neuropsychology and has Sub-specialty Certification in Pediatric Neuropsychology. He was previously a Practice Sample reviewer, and since 2020 has been a part of the ABCN Oral Examination team. Dr. Marcus's areas of clinical specialty are working with patients with epilepsy, neurofibromatosis, and other genetic, metabolic, and neuroimmune conditions.
