About Me

Dr. Axel is a licensed Psychologist in the State of NY. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University and went on to receive her Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Dr. Axel completed a year-long APA approved internship in Clinical Neuropsychology from the LIJ-Zucker Hillside Hospital, part of the North Shore-LIJ Health Care system. Dr. Axel completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in Forensic Psychology at Westchester Jewish Community Services. Dr. Axel has experience in the evaluation and diagnosis of disorders across the lifespan including Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Executive Functioning deficits, intellectual disabilities, language, and communication disorders. Dr. Axel can also help by evaluating and helping to guide treatment and school options for the cognitive deficits associated with various medical conditions like Epilepsy, Brain Tumors, Traumatic Brain Injury, Mood Disorders and other neurological and psychiatric conditions.
